Fillmore Central’s FFA Chapter celebrated National FFA Week the last week of February and had a very eventful week in order to celebrate and thank our supporters within the community. On Monday February 20th members wore blue, gold, or camo clothes. Then, on the 21st, 16 members drove tractors to school and were escorted by Fillmore County law enforcement and EMS. Not only did the members drive tractors to school, but they also wore their chapter T-shirts, presented ag presentations to the elementary students, and enjoyed some delicious farm-themed cookies from OMG Cookies & Cakes. On Wednesday, members were treated with breakfast burritos from Jill’s Sweet Shop, dressed like a farmer/farm animal, and gave more elementary presentations. Our annual appreciation breakfast was held on Thursday the 24th. Members wore official dress and helped work shifts at the breakfast to show our appreciation for the supporters in our community. Finally, on Friday, members wore “flashback jackets”. These jackets were borrowed from the members’ parents, grandparents, older siblings and even some of the teachers in our building. Members visited the elementary one last time for presentations and agriculture games. The officers also spent time at the middle school on Friday to host a pedal tractor relay at the annual Game of The Week.
